Pope Resigns: The Head Of The Catholic Church To Step Down On February 28.

The Vatican has announced that Pope Benedict XVI  will resign on Feb. 28 setting the stage for the election of a new pope by March 2013.
The 85 year old pontiff released a statement today saying he was too old to carry on his papal duties.
